Deal Me In Short Stories Challenge

The Deal Me in Short Stories Challenge is hosted yearly by Bibliophilica. The challenge goal is to read 52 short stories in a year, and to select each week's story by the luck of the draw from a deck of cards. The full details are here. My list is below. Linked titles go to online versions of stories I intend to read. When  story has been read it will be followed by the date read and a link to my review.

  1. Great list - and a high quality group of authors as well! Can't go wrong with O. Henry or Flannery O'Connor, to name just a couple. The latter's "A Late Encounter With the Enemy" is one story I remember liking a lot back when I read it a few years ago.

P.S. If you're on twitter, feel free to used the # DealMeIn2017 hashtag if you tweet links to your posts.

Hope you enjoy the challenge as much as I do!

    1. Thanks. I have been wanting to read more of their work, and this challenge is a great way to make time for it without becoming overwhelmed. I did my English thesis on O'Connor's Wise Blood and a selection of her short stories, but there are still some I have never read, so I'm especially looking forward to those.
